More Summer Fun

It's so sad that summer is coming to an end.  Both Kayla and Colin will be going through some daycare and preschool changes in the coming weeks.  Kayla has been moved up to the Rainbow room, which is one level closer to 4k.  She's such a smart cookie and always wanting to learn more.  Now if we can just control her little attitude that she is developing, we'll be good to go.  For example, if Kayla is talking to me and Jordan says something, she'll say something like, "Dada, was I talking to you? No, I was talking to Mama."

Colin on the other hand is going through a major daycare change as Jenny will no longer be able to provide care in a couple of weeks.  So we are doing our best to find someone just as good in the short amount of time.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works itself out.  Colin is just going to have to be a resilient little guy.  His new words are: meooow, up!, mine!, bye bye, and he's giving kisses.  He likes to show us things that he wants in the kitchen: fridge and sink mean he's thirsty and the cupboard means he's hungry.  If we don't follow him right away, he'll come over, take our hand, and make sure we come with him.  Quite persistent.

A few weeks ago, I went with Kayla and her class to a local dairy farm.  Here are some pictures from our fun morning.  On the school bus!

Milking a cow!!  I even got to milk a cow for the first time.  We even learned they have a cow on their farm named Kayla.

Kayla is actually not scared to feed the goats!

Here's Kayla with the neighbor kid.  They have a pretty good time playing together.
Pull Kayla!

Cute little Colin.  You can't see in this photo, but he's holding and eating a pear from our pear tree.  Even though they're pretty sour, Colin loves to gnaw on them.

Good bye long Colin hair, we will miss you!  Colin had his first haircut a week ago, and he looks like such a handsome little guy!  Not that he wasn't before, but he definitely looks older.  : )  He had many facial expressions from What's going on??

to Yay! First haircut!  I'm doing so well!

Haircut, what haircut?  I've got a fun bear to play with.

Don't mess with me and my new hair cut!

Ok, I'm done.

Hmm...what's wrong with this picture??

Grandma and Papa Rowe got Kayla a new bike with training wheels.  Within a matter of minutes, she was a pro at riding and stopping.  Even Colin was checking her cool bike.

Weee....look at her go!

This was both Kayla and Mama's first time in a row of corn.

Kayla and Colin playing with chalk.  You can't tell cause Colin is sitting on them, but Kayla is starting to learn how to write letters!  She's pretty good at A, L, O, H, and V.

Yep, that's Kayla playing a Game Boy.  Major flashback to the early 90's I think??

Hey, it's a photo of all of us!  Kayla and Colin were baptized this Sunday and don't they look cute all dressed up!

Fun on the Water

We visited with Jordan's family last weekend in Lake Geneva and had a blast!  Kayla and Colin had so much fun playing in the water.

Definitely one of Kayla's favorite thing that weekend was jet-skiing!  The three of us went out and Kayla kept asking, "more waves!"  There were a couple of times, I thought we'd all be falling off, but we managed to stay on.

It's too bad Kayla's swim teacher didn't get a chance to see Kayla in the water cause all she did was swim, swim, swim all by herself.  It was so much fun seeing her go back and forth between me and Jordan.

Here comes Colin!

Colin tolerated the water.  I don't think he was a fan of his life jacket.  He wasn't in for very long but did get to enjoy some splish-splashing.

Later that day, we went for a boat ride and Kayla got to sit next to the puppy!  She tolerated having the dog there, but Colin LOVED him and kept trying to follow him all around.  He definitely liked getting puppy kisses too!

Hey, Colin is actually wearing a hat and keeping it on!

Our little marshmallow enjoying the boat ride.

Kayla and Daddy being goofy on the dock.

We had a good thunderstorm come through in the afternoon, so Kayla needed help covering her ears.

In other news, Colin is (finally) getting some new teeth!  A couple of molars and top eye teeth.  Hurray, but poor Colin is not a happy camper.  Especially since he's still working on getting over his tummy troubles from a week or two ago.

Mini-Golf

Jordan's grandma's home has a fun variety of animals for Kayla and Colin to play with.  At our last visit, Kayla spent some time chasing ducks!

She also likes to admire the fish.

Jordan chaperoned a recent field trip at Kayla's school.  They went mini-golfing!  Here is Kayla building blocks with her friends.

Let's get on the bus!

Jordan admitted it can be hard to get a bunch of 3 year olds to actually play mini-gold, but they all had lots of fun.

It was a hot day, so here they are keeping out of the sun.

Awww....

Back at school, what job does Kayla get for the week?  Water plants?  Line leader?  Teacher's helper?

Mmm...donuts.  After tasting something yummy, he'll even look at you and say "Mmmmm!"

Summer Fun

The flu bug hit the Rowe family last week.  Jordan got sick first, then Kayla, then me.  We thought Colin was in the clear but a couple of days later, he got sick too.  Luckily we're all doing better now though although poor Colin is teething again!  It looks like he's getting his molars in, which will definitely help him eat, but they're definitely bothering him.

I may have mentioned Colin's favorite word, but it's "Mine".  And he knows how to use it too!  Everything he takes is mine!!

We've been watching the olympics on tv and Kayla is fascinated with gymnastics and in particular, vaulting.  She says she wants to learn how to spin in the air like those girls.  It's pretty cute.

Colin is slowly starting to get out of his clingy Mama stage.  Jordan stayed home with Colin when he was sick and actually got attached to Dada and when he had to leave later on that day, even though I was there, Colin got very upset.  You could tell Jordan kinda liked it though since Colin is never clingy with him.

Somebodies like to watch Dora!

Just look at this ridiculously cute boy!

Kayla had an art fair at her preschool where she showed off all of her artwork!

One of Colin's favorite things to do...play with pillows.

Kayla and Colin LOVE playing with each other.  They both just completely adore each other.  It's the sweetest thing to see.
