Summer 2021

Started the summer with a trip to Potawatomi State Park in Door County.

Our prairie is starting to look super nice!

Colin eating a pretzel the size of his head!

More chicken pictures!  It's just like having a new baby.  We just can't get enough!

A Jett kitty in the sink.  :)

Colin's birthday party was a bit delayed but we took the kids to try out archery.  Shooting targets was just as fun as running to go collect your arrows!

Framily camping at Mauthe Lake.  This year was a little sad as our friend who started this all was sick with cancer and unable to attend.  She passed away later in the year, and we will always have fond memories of our times at Mauthe Lake.  In happier news, Kayla brought a friend and it didn't rain the entire time!

As the chickens grew, we realized our pre-fab chicken coop was just too small.  So we drove down to Illinois and picked up this beauty!  And in other chicken news as they grew, we learned that one of our 'hens' that we ordered was actually a rooster.  Luckily, for awhile, he was a good boy so he stayed.

Colin started playing the bass this summer.  It's bigger than he is!

Spring 2021

More shenanigans during covid.  The benefits of having an older sister.

Daddy got April Fooled with a TP'd bedroom!

Happy Easter!  Easter egg hunt with a trampoline jump afterwards...with Smudge!

After years of talking about getting chickens, we finally took the leap and got them!  6 little ones.  We bought a variety of unknowns and it was fun trying to guess who each would be.  Everyone took part in naming them: Dandelion, McGee, Smokey, Oreo, Glacier, and Chicken!

Jordan is still not convinced about these chickies.

We started with a small coop which Colin helped me build.

Jett really enjoyed watching the chicks too.  She was very gentle and really just wanted to play with them.  She still does to this day!  Smudge just ignores them and Ash thinks they're food to chase.

Took a break from chickens for an outdoor Pinewood Derby.  We have the bus, cheese, and a Lamborghini.

The chickens moved outside!  They clearly are loving the sun and would find any bare spot to dust bathe.

Family time in the bathroom.  Jordan and McGee are having an in-depth conversation!

Kayla was given the opportunity to do a violin solo.  She did such a great job up on the stage!

At the same time, the Ernie Pope Art Fair was on Main Street so we visited her masterpiece.

Happy 10th birthday Colin!  He's enjoying root beer in a mug.

Jett enjoys watching Kayla play her violin homework.  Mostly for relaxing in the violin case.

Fun at the Tournament of Destruction!

Having baby chickens is just like having a baby.  We (I) took way too many pictures!

Last day of 4th and 6th grade!
