In July, we took a family vacation out to California! We rented a house in Pescadero with Papa Sal, Linda, Auntie Dana, and Uncle Eric. Linda's son and family were there too! It was quite the experience living on the coast and driving a Mustang everywhere. We saw harbor seals, seagull chicks, and humpback whales just looking out our window.
It had been a long time since we flew out of O'hare. Jordan had to step really far back to get the kids in with all of this giant long-neck dino!
Hanging out on the plane. Luckily our kiddos are pros with flying
Playing on the beach and watching the sunset on our first night
Playing on a very windy beach with our kites
Our local lighthouse
A good example of how high up the house was from the beach. The kids are so far away!
A result of all that beach playing is very very sandy kids
Checking out the tidal pools
We've got a mini-family reunion going on here!
Waiting to board the boat for Alcatraz
Visiting daddy in jail : (
We took the audio tour and even Kayla and Colin listened in. It was interesting to hear them pick up on a few things that were mentioned.
At least they have family cells! ; )
Oh no, now Colin's in jail!
Cutie
The Alcatraz tour wore this kid out!
The kids absolutely adored their time with Auntie Dana!
Can't go to San Fran without visiting the Golden Gate Bridge
Jump!
Unfortunately, I got sick one of the days, so Daddy took his mustang out to Pinnacles National Park and hiked up to the top!
Chillaxing with their Arizona auntie and uncle
We went whale watching in Santa Cruz. The kids loved watching the whales and riding all the way at the front of the boat.
Then it was on to the pier for some carnival rides. Look at these two!
Of course, you can't go to California without seeing the redwoods. These roots look like they're going to swallow Colin up!
Reach around that tree!
Seriously, this kid looks so tiny next to these trees!
Kayla, mommy....jump!
Family tree
Just in case he gets lost...
Had a big campfire for our last night
Kayla read her Pete books to everyone
Goodbye house! We'll miss you and your daily wildlife sightings!
