A few updates prior to Florida...
Here is Kayla petting our bunny Chewy. It's not too often Chewy lets people outside of me pet him, but he's gotten used to the kids petting him. Both Kayla and Colin love how soft he is and try to pet him often. This is also a perfect example of Kayla's dress obsession. She is not happy unless she is wearing a dress even if it's under a shirt. And it can't just be any dress, it has to be a dress that spins.
Colin's been wanting to ride in Kayla's car booster seat, but we've been telling him he is too little and has to get bigger and weigh more pounds. So now, every day he lifts up his shirt and asks if he has more pounds to see if he's big enough to ride in Kayla's seat. Other days when he's not eating well, we just tell him he has to eat more to get more pounds and that usually gets him to have a few more bites. That's our little guy!
Another Colin getting bigger story from the fall is Colin got very interested in Daddy going hunting and we just told him that he was a little boy and that when he got to be a big boy, he could go hunting. So now on almost a daily basis, he makes sure to remind us that when he gets to be a big boy, he's going hunting with Daddy for big deer. Here's Colin running around in his Thomas underwear. Most days, he insists on wearing them backwards so he can see the character on the front.
Well...it had to happen sooner or later. Both Kayla and Colin swore for the first time! I was with the both of them playing a game that was rather hard. After Colin got frustrated one time he said, "Aww, dammit!" I was in complete shock but at first wasn't sure what he actually said. Then Mommy brain kicked in and the only thing I could think to say was, "Colin, what did you just say?" Kayla then made sure I knew exactly what Colin said and repeated it!! We have no idea where either one of them heard it besides maybe at Kayla's school and then she taught it to Colin? It was just the perfect moment to actually say a swear word when you're frustrated. So I gave the a talking to, and sure enough, the next night, Kayla was mad about something and said, "Damn!" So we had another talking to, and haven't had a repeat since. At least that we know of. : )
Both Kayla and Colin are getting antsy with winter and are really looking forward to summer and going camping. We can't wait too!
