The kids were so ready for spring when we got back from California that I caught them playing baseball in the snow!
Umm...where did Kayla and Colin go? I feel like they're on an episode of the Masked Singer!
Art and Learning Fair! Kayla played her recorder and the kids showed off their art!
Colin cuddles!
Colin convinced me to to play with his favorite kind of puppy - a pug!
Bowling fundraiser with our buddies
Happy Easter!
Cub scout activity building garden beds at their school
Kayla was nominated to be the BASE kid of the year! Unfortunately she didn't win, but we are so proud of her accomplishment!

California 2019
Started our vacation in Palm Springs with a walk through a wash "warsh" that had experienced some flooding.
Pool time!
Game night. Not sure who's winning here but Colin's got some properties and money!
Our side trip this year started with a road trip through Los Angeles and Hollywood. We visited the La Brea Tar Pits with an ice cream stop afterwards!
A baby tar pit!
Tables weren't big enough for 4 so the kids are trying to fit in with the L.A. crowd.
Then we drove through Hollywood and went north along the ocean to Ventura. We found a park on our walk to dinner.
The next morning, we headed to the harbor and got ready for our trip to the Channel Islands
And we're off!
It was quite the windy ride but it turned into a whale watching trip as we saw gray whales and sleeping Rizzo dolphins.
Once we landed at Santa Cruz, we went exploring!
The best part about the day (next to the whales) were the island foxes! They were not shy at all.
Hiking to the top. This might be one of my favorite national parks (and Kayla's too!)
Back on the mainland and desert hiking
More pool time of course
Hiking at the Coachella Valley Preserve. The pictures don't show the butterfly migration occurring. There must have been thousands of painted ladies flying through!
Day trip to the Salton Sea. Checked out the sand dunes first. Made it down to the Mexico border!
Then to the Sunny Bono Wildlife Refuge where we saw lots of ducks and quail. Drove through Slab City and made our way back to the house.
Hanging out at the flea market
Colin's making me lunch with his kinetic sand
Fro-yo with Auntie Dana!
