A few weeks ago we took a trip out to Wyalusing State Park with the kids. It was our last camping trip before the big one our west. As always, we had a great time although Colin was teething and getting some molars, so he was a little grumpy at times.
I forgot to mention in my last post, but you can certainly see if in pictures from last time and now, but we had our first parent moment of taking Kayla to the emergency room. She tripped on the floor and split the palm of her hand wide open. Luckily it didn't need stitches, as the doctor was able to glue the skin back together. Kayla now wears a bandage that she is very proud of. She does a very good job wearing it and letting us change it although she gets very scared if she has to look at the actual wound. We're hoping in the next week or so that she won't need the bandage anymore.
Here's a fabulous view of the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers. Kayla loved to watch and listen for trains going by.

Chillin' by the fire
Per usual, Jordan got up with Colin in the morning and took him hiking. Colin had a great time although it's hard to tell how Dada was feeling from this picture. : )

Kayla's a little nervous standing on the rock.
Kayla and Dada had to crawl in on their hands and knees to get to the end of Treasure Cave. I'm super impressed Kayla made it all the way!
Colin and I waited outside the cave. He didn't want anything to do with it.

Here's Kayla leading the way down the trail. She started out very enthusiastic about hiking and it was only a matter of time before our line leader became the caboose. Once we reached the end and started coming back, our caboose quickly had to be carried the rest of the way back. At one point, Daddy was carrying both Colin and Kayla making it very difficult for Daddy when they played peek-a-book with each other around his head. : ) That's when each of us took a kid for the walk back.
The end of the trail was another cave. This one had water dripping from it and lots of sand from the sandstone, so the kids wanted to get as dirty as possible. Colin of course picked this point to have a very stinky poop.
It's a little blurry, but this photo shows the silliness that started once we got back to the camper. Lots of rough-housing!
Playing at the campsite
Dada and Colin the next morning with an effigy mound in the background. They unfortunately got a little rained on, but as long as Colin was fed, he wasn't too bothered by it.
On the way home, we stopped for lunch in a small town and Kayla rode their little train a few times. Even though it was VERY loud, she had a fun time.
We bought a 'toy' for the kids in anticipation of our Colorado trip, and here they are both enjoying it before zonking out on the car ride home.
