The next day we hiked up the big dunes! We brought Ash and even she got tired.
The kids and I took Ash to the dog part of the beach while Jordan challenged himself to walk all the way back to bring the car to us.
Watching the sunset from the top of the dunes. Colin still had tons of energy and ran up and down the dunes a few times all while Jordan was throwing the football to him.
Colin found a walking stick
Back to the campsite for a fire and smores
The next day we drove to Canada! It was a long drive but we finally made it. After setting up the camper, we braved the drizzle and wind to go to the dog beach on Lake Erie. The waves were huge!
It rained quite a bit the night we were there, so didn't do much at the campground. We did check out the nature center at least.
Next stop...New York! Our campsite was huge and on a cliff overlooking Lake Ontario and Toronto across the way.
The next day, we stood in line for what seemed like hours to get into Canada. At least we had some nice views on the Rainbow Bridge.
See that round tower over Jordan's shoulder? Keep that in mind after we check out the falls.
More of Niagara Falls from above ground
Checking out the falls from under ground! I still can't get over the engineering that must have occurred years ago to make this happen.
Afterwards because it was our anniversary, we took the kids up to the Skylon Tower for a buffet lunch. The kids couldn't believe that I told them they could have as much dessert as they wanted after finishing their lunch. Plus we had some amazing views!
We drove back to the campsite and a very happy pup. Look at that smile!
We then went to the American side of the falls and got into new ponchos and sandals for a different view. Then we stuck around the fireworks afterwards. Quite a busy but fun-filled day!
During much of our driving, the two things that kept us occupied was listening to a Series of Unfortunate Events on tape and guessing the song on the IPOD. And keeping Ash company too!
We went to Cuyahoga National Park with the main draw being the train ride through the park with the roof being windows for better viewing.
Compared to Niagara, Brandywine Falls is tiny!
Last stop was Indiana Dunes National Park. Our campsite and weather wasn't the greatest so we really debated just going home. We stuck it out one more night and had fun on the beach with Chicago in the distance.
