Our first stop on our out west camping trip was at a recreation park in Nebraska. We had a gorgeous spot overlooking the reservoir. Unfortunately the water was low and it was quite muddy but still had fun exploring.
After leaving this campsite, we followed the Oregon Trail west. First stop was Chimney Rock.
Next up was Scotts Bluff.
Oregon Trail ruts
Our next campsite was on Casper Mountain. Beautiful views of the valley.
Continuing down the Oregon Trail, here's Independence Rock! We climbed straight up...even Ashy! She loved every minute of it, especially when the chipmunks wanted to play. It was steep!
Then we celebrated Jordan's birthday at the Jackson rodeo!
The next 3 days were spent in the Tetons
Took a lovely horseback ride in the mountains
Kayla slept through this panoramic view so Colin edited her in
More beautiful scenery (and a goofball Colin!)
The kids really enjoyed this stop at a spring where we not only had a moose encounter but there are aquarium fish that were unfortunately released, living in the spring. We had a mini foot spa with them nibbling on our toes.
Went whitewater rafting too and Kayla jumped in for a swim!
Exploring Jackson Hole
Campsite view and fun
After the Tetons, we visited Crater of the Moon. Amazing lava field scenery and cave exploring!
