Another day at Acadia and this time we packed a picnic lunch and drove to Schoodic Pennisula to check out the quieter side of the park.
We spent the afternoon exploring the tide pools and watching the waves.
We then went back to Bar Harbor to walk out to Bar Island during low tide. We all explored and found starfish, crabs and other sealife.
On our way to Massachusetts, we stopped at a fort for lunch and Ash wanted to look too!
Next day we explored Plymouth and America's first street and Plymouth Rock, and a replica of the Mayflower.
Then on to Cape Cod where we ate lunch on the beach and spent the rest of the day exploring the beaches and trying to decide which beach was our favorite. They were all unique in their own ways! No sharks but lots of seals.
This campsite had tetherball which we all enjoyed playing.
Next day, we explored Salem for the Hocus Pocus houses and witch trial memorials. Then it was on to Boston. Checked out Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution.
Explored more Boston history and of course had to stop at Cheers.
Next day, we took the camper to New York City. From our spot, you could just make out the Statue of Liberty. Given that we had not even a day to explore, we made the most of it. Took the ferry across the Hudson then visited the 9/11 memorial, Ghostbusters headquarters, took the subway to Times Square, ate New York style pizza, took the subway to the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty up close, walked down Wall Street, then took the ferry back to Jersey. We packed it all in!
From there it was just about a straight shot home over two days with a stop along Lake Erie for the night. What a vacation! Can't wait for the next one which as I write this, is less than a week away! :)
