Summer Update

Yikes it's been a long time since we've posted!  This summer has kept us very busy between swim lessons, dance lessons, camping, etc.  I have a feeling each summer is just going to get busier and busier.  Here is a pic of Kayla and Colin enjoying Kayla's favorite show on youtube...Peppa Pig!  And of course, Colin does whatever Kayla does, so he enjoys watching Peppa too.  After a couple episodes of Peppa, she'll go around the house snorting like a pig.

One of Kayla's favorite field trips this summer was to the fire station!  Daddy couldn't resist either, so he went along as a chaperone.

For about a month, we were turtle-sitting a few turtles from work, which Kayla and Colin absolutely adored.  It took Colin the entire month before he got the nerve to pick one up, but he finally did it on the last day.  On the first day, he insisted on showing the turtles all of his toys and brought them over so they could see.  Kayla was always keeping a watchful eye on them in case they travelled too far (she would pick them up and move them back) or flipped themselves over (she'd save them).  We were all a little sad to see them leave.

Going back to 4th of July, Jordan bought sparklers, bottle rockets, and other little fireworks.  The kids loved it all.  They played very well with the sparklers, loved watching the snakes grow, and had fun throwing and stepping on the little poppers.

During Kayla's swim lessons, Colin was usually found playing at the playground on the slide.  Weeee!

Kayla came so close to passing the Puddlers level this year.  Next year, she'll have all her floats learned perfectly!
