August 20, 2011

Today, Jordan is the big 30.  That seems so old to me, but I know I'll be there in only a year and a half.  : )

It's been quite a long time since I've posted and so much has happened since a month ago.  Colin will be three months in a few days and he is starting to get out of his newborn stage.  He's slowly becoming an easier, less fussy baby.  He's also noticing and observing more now.

Colin had his first boat ride a few weeks ago at the Tallgrass BBQ.  Even though he enjoyed it from the comfort of his car seat, he really didn't seem to mind the waves or the wind in his hair.

Later that day, Jordan took all of us out on a Kubota ride through the prairie and Kayla helped steer!

That night, after Colin and I went home, Kayla and Dada went camping in the popup.  Kayla had a blast and before she went to bed, enjoyed some smores by the campfire.

Back in July, we took a trip into the city to take Kayla to see her favorite animal...SHARKS!!  Auntie DeeDee came with us.  We took Thomas the train, and Kayla just watched out the window the entire time.  She loved her ride as did Minnie!

Kayla looks so big with the Sears Tower in the background!  Oh, wait, the Willis, I'll never get used to that.

On our way to the aquarium, we stopped at Millenium Park to play in the fountains.  At first, Kayla just walked around, but we all know how much that girl loves her water, and in no time, she was soaked.

Well, sure enough, after walking allll the way to the aquarium, there is a 2+ hour long line.  After very little debate (the sharks were sleeping that day), we turned around and walked allllll the way back to Millenium Park and the water.  "Hooray!" as Kayla would say.  Here's Kayla as we take a mini break at the aquarium.

Because Kayla wasn't wet enough the first time around, here she is trying to get even more wet the second.

We were so proud of Kayla that day.  Between all the walking we did to and from the train station, aquarium, and park, she wanted to walk just about all of it on her own, and she did a great job.  Towards the end, as we were trying to hurry her along (Let's walk faster Kayla.  Keep walking.) so we wouldn't miss the train, she said, "I'm walking as fast as I can!"  She's too cute.

And where was Colin during all this?  Going for a ride in the front pouch, staring at everything.  He loved it and was great during the entire trip.
