Kayla had her doctor appointment about two weeks ago. While there, we discovered she had an ear infection! The doctor was surprised that we didn't notice it since it looked very painful, but Kayla never showed any signs of it. So we've been on antibiotics and she is all better now. With the ear at least. Now she is teething with her molars and she is having a rough time with it. Her gums are very swollen. She's been extremely hungry and fussy this past week, but not at all thirsty. Hopefully those molars come in soon! We miss our happy bug!

Her weight is up to 18 pounds 12 ounces, which is 10%. Her height is 29.5 inches, which is 70%. Tall and skinny, just like me when I was her age. : ) Sadly, she's not quite big enough to turn the car seat around. We were hoping we could actually see her when we drive!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention, but Kayla is crawling! She learned about a week ago. She won't do it unless there's something she really wants. She still prefers to either sit or stand and walk with help. But there are now no guarantees that she will be where you put her. No walking on her own yet, but I'm convinced she will be by Christmas. She loves to see how long she can stand on her own and gets a big smile on her face the longer she stands. She walks holding hands and just this past weekend, starting walking with her baby walkers. I think she likes the feeling of moving without the help of anybody.

Kayla went swimming for a second time over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were visiting Jordan's parents and his relatives were staying at the local hotel, so we headed over. At first, Kayla wanted nothing to do with. Apparently she didn't remember how much fun it was the first time. It took a bit of soothing on Mama's part and playing on the step, but she eventually remembered what fun it was to kick the water and Jordan took her for a few strolls around the pool.
