Our Kayla girl is going to be one in less than two months, and I don't think I'm ready for it yet!! Sigh...but I am looking forward to seeing her try and open presents and eat her cake. : )
Kayla has learned quite a few words in the past couple of weeks. If she won't walk or crawl, she can certainly talk. The ones she is best at are ball, book, and bottle. She loves playing with balls and if we put one in front of her, she will say "bau". If we say bottle, she'll look for her bottle and get excited when she sees it. She will say mama when she wants something. And, just this past weekend when asked where her dada is, she would look at Jordan and say dada. Although that was a one-time deal because when asked the next day where her dada was, she would turn around and look at her grandpa and say dada. We're working on it. : )
A few weekends ago, we went up to Aztalan State Park and during lunch, Jordan brought out a nectarine for him to eat. Once Kayla saw the nectarine, she kept saying bau bau and trying to reach for it. So we gave it to her thinking she would just play. Boy, were we wrong. She took a bite and wouldn't stop till the nectarine was half eaten! Way to use those teeth Kayla!
Now, to all you Cubs fans out there, I will have to apologize about this next picture. Not to worry though, next year, you will be seeing Kayla in Cubs gear too. With that in mind, doesn't Kayla and Jordan look soooo cute in their Cardinals outfits!! Go Cu...I mean...Cardinals! Oh, it hurt to write that. : )
