December 5, 2010

Kayla loves how we just keep celebrating her birthday.  We were at Grandma and Papa Rowe's over Thanksgiving and had a Dora cake with presents.  This weekend, we'll have her final birthday celebration with my Mom's side of the family.  More birday cake peeze!

She can barely contain herself from sticking her whole hand in the frosting

Kayla is definitely a frosting girl.  No forks necessary!  She'll use her fingers to remove ALL frosting from her piece of cake and leave the cake behind.

Kayla has been adding to her vocabulary and sentences every day.  My new favorites from her include me asking her a question to go do something and she'll respond with "Ok, Mama."  I know it's nothing special, but she'll say ok and then go and do what I ask.  I like it.  : )

Another new sentence which can be good and bad at times is, "Let me have it."  We're working on the please afterwards.  Although she is polite in many other ways including saying "Blesh you" after a sneeze.  This could include just blowing your nose too, but it's still cute.

We asked Kayla what she wants for Christmas the other day since she is going to see Santa Claus on Saturday and her answer was, "Hot Cheese."  Hot cheese would be her all time favorite food of mac and cheese.  No toys, no Dora movies.  Just hot cheese.  We might have to explain that one to Santa.

Here's Kayla getting a ride in the laundry basket with her Dora blanket with a "Pudgey" in the background

Kayla and I are both fighting colds so we're hoping Dada doesn't get sick.  I think it's only going to be a matter of time, since we've both been fighting them for two weeks or so.

We had our first snowfall this past weekend and while I would have loved to have pictures to show of Kayla playing in it, we think we left our camera charger in Costa Rica!  We have a spare, but it's an extra nice extra large one, so that one doesn't come out to take pictures as often.  But Kayla looooves the snow!  She likes to just walk around in it and push snow off things and write letters in the snow.  We're hoping to take her sledding down our neighbor's small hill this winter too.  Hopefully our new camera charger comes in time for her birthday party this Saturday!
