January 16, 2012

Colin finally popped out a tooth!!  It was about a week and a half ago, amazingly, only a couple days difference from when Kayla got her first tooth.  (A side note...physically, besides the whole girl vs. boy thing, Kayla and Colin are IDENTICAL.  When it comes to personalities though, they are exact opposites.  It's certainly an adventure keeping up with the two of them.)  It is a bottom tooth and from experience, quite sharp.  Colin doesn't let too many people see that tooth, but it sure is a cute one.  In more Colin news, he is getting SO close to crawling.  I'm guessing by my next post, I'll have lost track of him because he's crawling everywhere.  But he can move a bit when he's sitting up by scooting around in a circle and can also scoot a few inches to his favorite toys and people.  Kayla started crawling within a week or two of walking and that was at 13mo, so this will be a whole new experience for us.  I think we're going to have to baby-proof the house more than we did for Kayla.  : )

Kayla has been especially cute lately, although, really, when is she not.  A few weeks ago, I had a migraine, and when I told Kayla I couldn't play cause my head hurt, she came over to kiss my head to make it feel better.  Then she asked if she could lay with me on the couch, so I grabbed a blanket and we snuggled for awhile, and sure enough, my migraine went away!  She sure knows how to take care of her Mama.

Cute Kayla story:  We were eating dinner at Grandma and Papa's and Kayla was having whipped cream with a side of pie for dessert.  When we weren't watching she decided to pretend the whipped cream was foamy soap and started 'washing her hands' with it.  : )

Here are photos from Kayla's 4th birthday party...look at that cute little guy with his auntie!

Of course there was chocolate cake with purple frosting.  Here are the birthday kids!

I love Kayla's expression here when hugging her cousin.

This photo probably started Kayla's new way of taking pictures...with her eyes closed.  Sometimes, we have to take at least 7 or 8 photos to get one with her eyes open.  What would we do without digital cameras??

Kayla's first paint job!

Colin enjoying his exersaucer!  This was the only photo was his hands not in his mouth.

Kayla doing what she does best.  Playing run-around!

Don't think I mentioned Kayla's big birthday and Christmas present.  It was a new Powerwheels!  She loves the car and on one of the nicer days in December, she practiced driving it around.  She still has a little bit more practice before we can really let her loose, but I'm sure that'll come by spring.
