Kayla just had a doctor's appointment on Friday and she is growing by leaps and bounds! Her length is up into the 45% and her weight has moved up to the 10%, which is 14 lb 3 oz. I feel much better about that than the 5% from last time. The doctor checked her over and Kayla is doing great with all her develoments! She was even demonstrating to the doctor how she babbles and can roll over.
Speaking of rolling over, she is a pro at it now. She will roll all over the room if we let her. Now she is trying her hardest to crawl with no luck yet. But she is definitely trying! Maybe at the next post I will be having to chase after her while she crawls around. She can also almost sit up on her own. I can't quite let sit on her own, but I imagine I will be able to real soon.
Last post I mentioned she was going to be trying pears. Well she tried them and they are definitely her favorite! We have also added squash and peas to the mix although peas are probably last on her list. She usually eats rice cereal with her foods, but today we gave her actual rice grains which she liked just as well. Next food on the list are apples!
Jordan, Kayla, and I have gone on small local hikes the past couple of weekends. We picked up a backpack carrier for $2 at a garage sale and we're putting it to good use. Kayla loves hiking although she tends to fall asleep in the carrier. We'll have to post some pictures of her and Jordan next time. For short hikes, she goes in the front carrier with me.
At that same garage sale, we also bought her a swing, so we tied it up to our tree out back. Kayla loves it! We've got some great pictures and video of her squeeling in her swing. I will post them and more next time!
