Kayla Brooke arrives!
While I was planning on posting on my due date with new belly photos and thoughts on how anxious I was to have the baby, Kayla had other plans for that day. Yes, she was born on her due date, November 15!! It's going on two weeks and she is everything we could have asked for and more.

My main fear with going into labor was that I would have no idea how I would know if I was and that came true on Friday, the 14th. I woke up in the morning leaking just a small amount of fluid and so I thought nothing of it. However, as the day went on, more and more started leaking, which made me think this must be my water breaking. I never got an actual gush of water until Jordan and I were leaving for work. At least it waited that long so I wouldn't have to change clothes at work!

When we got home, Jordan rushed over to get a hair cut before we went to the hospital while I got things ready at home. We arrived at the hospital around 6pm. They confirmed that yes, my water had broken and we were admitted. We were moved into our very spacious room and things progressed slowly till about 2am. I had started feeling contractions when we arrived at the hospital and when it came time to try and sleep, I couldn't sleep through the pain of them. At 2am, I took a very relaxing bath in the hydrotherapy tub. At this point, I was so tired and the contractions were so uncomfortable that everytime I started to fall asleep, I would be awaken by a contraction. At this point, my nurse suggested an epidural so I could get some rest before push-time came. I agreed and once I received the epidural, I fell asleep for about 5 hours. I was woken up at 9am with the nurse saying that since it's been over 24 hours since my water has broken, my doctor would like to induce a little to help move things along.

My doctor came in and checked me out and said we're ready to start pushing! A short 25 minutes later, at 11:47am, Kayla Brooke was born! The labor and pushing was so easy and laidback. She weighed in at 6lbs 10 oz and is 20 inches long!

Things have been quite hectic since and I will post on the happenings at home soon, but in the meantime, here are some pictures of our little cutie pie and family at the hospital!
