A few weekends ago, we left Colin with Grandma to get one last camping trip in before it started to get cold. We took Kayla and our pop-up to Lake Kegonsa State Park. The weather was much better this camping trip than last time. We also went during the weekend of 9/11. Here is our campsite:

After setting up, we drove over to the beach and playground. Kayla made a friend while picking up coconuts with hats (acorns). She also insisted on having one of us help her dig a hole so she could be buried in it.

There was a small beach and swimming area. We didn't think Kayla would be interested since the water was so cold (or maybe we were just hoping), but Kayla bug could care less about the cold water and walked right in. Then came the not-so-happy Kayla when we told her it was dinnertime and we had to go back. We quickly got her out of her wet clothes when we got back.

At the campsite, we made sandwiches in our pudgie pie maker. Kayla played with bubbles! As it got darker out, me and her kicked her big ball around until we were playing by the light of the moon. We even went for an evening prairie walk.

The next day we went for a morning prairie walk. Kayla found a lot of worms (centipedes) and pointed out each one that crossed our path. She watched each one make it to their home in the grass and then we continued along.

Then it was playtime at the park for awhile then packed up and came home. Can you tell this slide is really fast?

And in Colin news...he can now for sure roll from his tummy to his back. And Grandma and Kayla witnessed him roll from his back to his tummy. Hurray!
