February 29, 2012

So much kid news since I last posted!  Let's start with Colin first.  He is now a pro-crawler and will follow us around the house like a little puppy.  It has definitely helped in keeping him occupied for longer stretches, but since he is now very much in the middle of his separation anxiety stage, he prefers to be held by his mama...all the time.  He's learning how to kneel and attempt to stand from kneeling.  Other things he has learned in the past couple of weeks are waving, making funny sounds with his hands and mouth, and kneeling.  He can also stand while holding onto furniture, and I'm sure by the time I post next, he'll have mastered cruising.  Also, after 1.5months of waiting, we have our second tooth!  Another bottom one so it evens it the bottom.  He has his 9 month check-up on Monday, so will update on that soon along with Florida pictures.

Kayla on the other hand is in a I-must-do-everything-by-myself-with-absolutely-no-help stage.  While this is a great stage to be in for her and us, it backfires when she refuses help from anybody and ends in a tantrum half dressed.  But she's learning, which is very fun to watch.  No word on potty training although I have decided to just stop buying diapers.  Kayla is aware that the two bags we have are the last ones and there will be no more.  I can only hope I have good news to report next time.  Once she tackles potty training, we can get her started at preschool!

Let's catch up on some winter photos...

Colin has started eating people food and he loves sweet potato fries.  He loves them so much he gets a very determined look on his face when eating them.  DON'T TOUCH MY SWEET POTATO FRY!!

We took the kids to Bald Eagle Days and Kayla loved watching the eagles fly around although she was getting confused with the eagles and the seagulls that were flying around at the same time.  The face-painter even insisted that Colin get a fish on his cheek!

A rare day with snow.

Playing with his basketball hoop.

What's that on Kayla's arm!?!  Oh!  It's just Sam the gecko.  : )

Let's go sledding!  Kayla couldn't get enough of it and so did Colin!  Kayla even took the time to make a snow angel.  Jordan did a good job pulling the sled (and the kids) up the hill.

Kayla made this mask awhile ago and Colin loved seeing her hide behind it.  He kept trying to poke at her eyes, which Kayla thought was pretty funny!

Happy baby!
