January 30, 2012

Colin is so incredibly close to crawling, any closer, and he will be crawling.  He can definitely scoot around a bit, especially on the tile or wood floor.  He knows he wants to!  When he tries, he actually goes up on his knees and kneels for a couple of seconds before putting his hands on the floor.  It's cute, but it reminds me that once he starts crawling, he'll be that much closer to walking.  He can also sit up on his own now too.  Colin is still just a one-tooth little man with no signs of the others coming.

We visited preschools with Kayla today!!  She is really excited about going to preschool but not at all excited about having to use the potty at school.  At the moment she wants nothing to do with her potty because of her past experiences using it when having a UTI.  So I think it's going to be a challenge, but I'm hoping she'll get past it soon.

Kayla and Jordan were playing with bouncy balls yesterday and Jordan (accidentally??) bounced a ball off of Kayla's head.  (In his defense, he said Kayla was actually asking him to throw balls at her.)  So Kayla put Jordan in a time-out.  She walked him over to the spare room, put him on the bed and said to stay there for one minute.  She then came back after a minute or two and asked if he had learned his lesson.  Definitely the funniest thing that happened yesterday.  : )

It only took me a month, but here are pictures from Christmas and New Years!  Kayla has a new silly face while showing off the cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer.

Who's this crazy family?!?

Stickerface!

For New Years Eve, we took Kayla on Thomas the train downtown to see the Navy Pier fireworks!  Despite the cold, she had sooo much fun riding the train and walking with us.

While waiting for the fireworks to start, we stopped for a mini trainride and then some ice cream.

Downtown

Sticker Leg!!

Kayla went through a phase of eating her chocolate like this.  Now I'm not really sure if she got any in her mouth or if was just smeared all over her face, but she thought it was pretty funny.  For Jordan and me, it was funny the first time, but not after the tenth time of trying to catch her to clean up her cute chocolate face.

Hmm...apparently, these are the only Colin photos we took of him in the past month.  What a disgrace!!  We'll do better next time, I promise!
