June 19, 2010

Kayla's new words these past couple of weeks include: tickle, peas (please), yumm, mine, doe (no), and frish (fish).  She only says please if we ask her to, but we have to start teaching her how to be polite sometime.  She says yum on cue when she's eating something she likes.  Luckily she doesn't know what mine means, but she says it often.  And she knows no!  Kayla knows how to use this word and love to use it when she is upset about something.  Fish was a new word as of today because we went to the Milwaukee County Zoo and saw fish!

They were most definitely her favorite animal at the zoo.  She loved pointing at them and saying ba, her favorite word.  She would even show other people the fish and spent quite a bit of time pointing and going back and forth between exhibits saying ba.  After the fish, the only other animals she was somewhat interested in where the brown bears and monkeys.  She also got up close and personal with a tiger!

Kayla is now big enough to ride in the kid carts while grocery shopping.  She really enjoys trying to steer the cart while we push her around.

While we don't have pictures to share, Kayla has rediscovered that swimming is a lot of fun!  Whether it is the kiddie pool where she can splash around or the big pool with mama or dada holding her, that girl is a little fish in the pool.  I'm sure we'll have some photos by the end of the summer.  Good thing we have a free pool at the campground only 20 minutes away, and if we go on the weekend, it comes with a visit with Grams and Gramps too.  : )

And here is Kayla just being cute, as always!
