I'm still not used to saying 'the kids'. I need to get over that! Colin has his first day at daycare today since I go back to work on Monday. So far it's been great having the house to myself, but every now and then I think I hear a Colin cry and I have to remind myself that he's not here. I'm really not looking forward to going back to work, but it's gotta be done. Colin is an expensive little baby!
Colin has been doing extremely well since coming home from the hospital. He weighed in at 8lb 2oz a few days after his 1 month birthday, so he finally made it past his birth weight and has been eating and getting bigger ever since! His visit with the surgeon went well and his scar is looking as good as it can be. We also had an ultrasound appointment that weight for possible spina bifida, but our little Colin passed that exam with the radiologist saying he has a perfect looking spine. Hurray!
Colin gave us his first smile right around 4 weeks and has been showing off his gummy grin ever since. Nevermind that he usually spits up when he smiles. And about a week later he started cooing and la-ing to me. I love it!

Once we get him to sleep, Colin sleeps very well at night going anywhere from 3-8 hours at a stretch! It's usually around 3-4 hours, but we did have a one 6 and 8 hour stretch. It was quite nice. : )
Kayla still loves being a big sister. She's always asking if Colin is awake or asleep and if he's awake, she'll go say hi. Here she is on her tricycle that we need to get just a little bit bigger for to ride.

A couple weeks ago when it was nice and not super hot, the four of us went for a nice walk and used our double stroller for the first time. Kayla and Colin loved it! Kayla wore her sunnies and brought along her two favorite friends, White Minnie and Betta the cat. She has since aquired a third favorite friend, Clifford the big red dog! Those three are her constant companions along with an occasional baby doll and she carries them everywhere with her in a basket.

We bought Kayla a swing set from a local family last weekend! Kayla tested it out and approved so Jordan brought home the bobcat and assembled the swing set for Kayla. Kayla loves the big girl swings and going down the slide.
I'll catch you Dada!

Kayla sayings:
After spilling a glass of apple juice, "That was a mistake!"
Poor Jordan..."I love Mama, Colin, Grandma, Papa, Pudgey, Pumpkin. Not Dada." But she says this with a big goofy smile so we know she's kidding.
