It's been awhile since I've updated, and even though I won't have any pictures to update you with since they are on the other computer, Kayla and Colin need an update!
Kayla is as always, growing up way too fast. I swear everyday she says something new that makes me realize she is growing up. We had a big weekend with her because on Friday, she went in the potty for the first time for us!! She was so proud of herself, and we didn't even ask her too. She just undressed and went like it was something she does all the time.
Kayla is also continuing to be a great big sister to Colin. She will watch him for me while I'm doing chores. She'll come up and give him hugs and kisses. She's helping him walk (see below!). I can't wait to watch them grow up together.
Kayla had her three year check-up. Her height is 3ft 1in (80%) and weight is 28 1/2 lbs which is 23%. All was well except the doctor detected a heart murmur and referred us to the children's hospital in Madison to get it checked out. Didn't know it at the time, but heart murmurs run on both sides of our family. We went to the hospital, and sure enough, everything looked fine, but Kayla got lots of extra hugs from us during those weeks.
Colin also had a check-up at 6 months. He is doing great with a height in the 45% and weight at 14lb 1oz (2.7%). Skinny and long, almost exactly the same as Kayla at 6 months. Just this weekend, Colin started sitting up on his own, which is fantastic for us because now he can somewhat entertain himself on his own. We also think he is going to be walking a lot sooner than Kayla did since is now, with help, standing on his own! He also loves to walk with help and 'chase' after Kayla. He's also eating baby food, which he loves! No favorites yet. Maybe his favorites are little poofs that he likes to chew on.
Hopefully I'll have some time to add photos soon!
